Children need some discipline, but it's best not to be too draconian with them. They respond really well to praise too, so it's all about striking the right balance. As adults, we sometimes forget how kids respond to really small things. Like stickers. Can you still just about remember doing some good work at school when you are were tiny and getting rewarded with praise, encouragement and a couple of gold stars? Quite a moment wasn't it? And I bet it spurred you on to do more good work and be a good pupil.
